Finch & Associates is a full service family law, elder law, and estate planning law firm. Concentrating on Family Law, Elder Law, Guardianships and Conservatorships, Estate and Trust Administration, Special Needs Trusts and Probate, our firm helps individuals and families plan for life, overcome the legal challenges brought about with family transitions, special needs, aging, incapacity, and death.

Michelle R. Finch

Michelle has been practicing law in Boise, Idaho since 1985. A Montana native, Michelle graduated from the Gonzaga University School of Law, Cum Laude, in 1985. Michelle is licensed to practice in Idaho and Montana.

Michelle is known for her advocacy, compassion and dedication to her clients’ interests and goals. She recognizes that legal issues involving family members is personal and can be emotionally charged and works to resolve the issues at hand outside of the courtroom when possible. In cases where resolution is not possible without the assistance of the Court, Michelle advocates for her clients in contested family law, guardianship, conservatorship, probate and trust cases in Idaho and Montana. For her Montana clients, Michelle can make arrangements for appointments via phone, videoconferencing, or in person, as the situation warrants.

Michelle is a member of the Idaho State Bar Trust, Taxation and Probate Section, the Idaho Supreme Court’s Guardianship and Conservatorship Committee, the Idaho Guardianship and Fiduciary Association, the National Association of Elder Law Attorneys, and the Idaho State Bar Family Law Section. She is a former chairperson of the Ada County Board of Community Guardians and a former member of the Canyon County Organization on Aging. She also regularly volunteers for the Idaho Volunteer Lawyer Program in pro bono guardianship matters.

Outside of the office, Michelle can be found trail running, rock climbing, hiking, enjoying the mountains of Western Montana and Paradise Valley/Livingston, Montana, gardening, watching her youngest daughter play high school and club soccer, and enjoying time with her three daughters, her family and friends.

Paula DeVaney

Paula, the firm’s Senior Paralegal, is a native of New Mexico who has resided in Idaho since 1982. Paula is an integral part of the firm’s team and works closely with our clients and the professional fiduciaries that are often involved in the guardianship and conservatorship cases the firm handles. Paula has a passion for families, children, and the elderly and is motivated by the opportunity to help others. Paula has been actively involved in raising Guide Dogs for the Blind and training service dogs. She is a past member and president of the Boise Chapter of National Association of Women in Construction.

Outside of the office, Paula enjoys attending and following Professional Bull Riding (PBR) and is a part-owner of a “bucking” bull – named King Pin. Paula also enjoys vacationing in Mexico with her sisters and spending time with her family and friends.
